Enquiries
We welcome enquiries about Masters projects, PhD studentships and Post-doctoral research.
Masters projects
We encourage applications from funded Masters students interested in conducting a Masters project with our group. We conduct our main field work twice a year in January-February and June-October, and it is possible to have one Masters student in each of these seasons.
Masters students must be experienced bird ringers, mist-netters and colour-ring readers. Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss this possibility, with a short outline of your research proposal, a CV and the emails of two academic referees that we may contact.
PhD studentships
When we have funded PhD positions available we will advertise them on this webpage. Generally these are advertised in the first term of the academic year.
If you are interested in applying for your own funding please email us with the funding you would like to apply for (eg Croucher Foundation, NWO ALW Open Competition), your CV, the name and emails of two academic referees, letter of motivation, and a research proposal.
Post-doctoral research
We would be happy to work with post-doctoral researchers on applications for individual fellowships (eg NERC fellowship, RSUK URF, Marie Curie Fellowship, NWO Rubicon Fellowship) or for post-doctoral grants (eg NWO ALW Open Competition, NWO Veni, NERC standard grant). Get in touch via our emails on the people page.
